We’re excited to announce the experimental web version of the MIDILLI Configurator — now available directly from your browser, including mobile browsers like Chrome, Firefox, and Edge! Accessible via: https://midilli.tech/configurator.
Until now, the Configurator was available on Windows, macOS, and Linux. But that left out a key part of our vision: freedom across all platforms — including mobile devices and the web. This release brings us one step closer to that goal.
🚀 What’s New?
With the web version, you can now configure any of your MIDILLI devices without downloading anything. Whether you’re on desktop or mobile, you can launch the Configurator instantly and adjust your settings wherever you are.
What the web version needs is just a permission to read and configure your MIDI devices. You will also see that next to the addressbar, when it is doing it:
The left side of the addressbar lets you also revoke the permission at any time.
⚠️ What’s Missing (For Now)
Because this is an experimental release, a few features are currently disabled:
- Firmware updates (although version checking still works)
- Quick documentation downloads (you can still access docs via My MIDILLI account)
⚙️ What’s Limited
Some features have limited functionality in the browser environment:
- Importing/exporting configurations is only available using local browser storage.
Please make sure you’re saving the settings inside/home/web_user
folder or equivalent in your environment — otherwise, data may be lost. - Due to the nature of WebMidi, you need to plug your device first then launch the web configurator, otherwise your device may not be found.
💡 Try It Now
This is an exciting step toward full cross-platform support for all MIDILLI users. Your feedback is essential — test it out and let us know how it fits your workflow!
